The purpose of this reading inventory is to return a test score that directly correlates to the reading level of the student being tested.

Read the following selection and answer as many questions as possible in 3 minutes!

At the completion of the test, match the test score with the appropriate grade level listed at the bottom of the page.


This button will open the "Timer" window which will allow you to "Start" the timer. After you have started the timer, go to work on the Inventory. The timer will ask you to "Stop" when the time has elapsed.


The Bakery

This is the way my sisters and I played bakery. We made a counter by placing a large board on two boxes. Then we asked Mother for her old cups and can covers. We sifted sand and mixed it with water. When it could be molded in our hands, we were ready to make cakes and pies. We packed the moist sand tightly inside the dishes, and our pies and cakes came out very nicely when we turned the molds upside down on the counter. We scattered dry sand on the top for frosting. Sometimes we put little stones on top for nuts. We gathered leaves to use for money and then were all ready for people who wanted to buy.
