Protozoa
Name:

Protozoa are the simplest animals known. The name "Protozoa" comes from the Greek word meaning "first animals". Protozoa are one-celled animals that inhabit bodies of water. Protozoa are similar to higher life forms in that they can hunt and eat food, digest what they eat, use it as energy, and then eliminate the waste. They also reproduce themselves. Protozoa are so small that more than a million could fit into a teaspoon of pond water. Common forms of Protozoa are animals known as the Amoeba, Paramecium, Euglena, and Radiolaria.
