"The Highly Fashionable and the Absolutely Vulgar are but two faces of the common coin of humanity."
Herbert George Wells was an extremely popular English novelist who disguised his thoughts on social reform and scientific speculations in his novels. H.G. Wells began his outstanding writing career with educational articles in the Fortnight Review. He published his first novel, The Time Machine in 1895, after which a series of scientific romances followed, most notably The Invisible Man (1897), The War of the Worlds(1898), The First Men in the Moon (1901), Kipps (1905), The War in the Air(1908) and The history of Mr. Polly(1910). His Outline of History(1920) became immensely popular. He was acquainted with novelist George Bernard Shaw, and it is sometimes said that between them the two authors changed the mind of Europe.
